Discover the castle of Luisandre

Start from the village of Brey-de-Vent and hike to the top of Mount Luisandre, 805 m high. Once on top, you will have an exceptionnal point of view on the castle of the Allymes, and be able to look for the ruins of the castle of Luisandre (yellow and purple markings).

Estimated time: 45 min one-way (200m difference in height) accessible to children from 6 years old.

From Saint-Germain to the Allymes

Start to the right of the chapel of Saint-Germain (a district of Ambérieu-en-Bugey). Follow the path to the right and the sign “ruins of the castle of Saint Germain”. When in front of the tower of Gy, go on the left and follow the GR59 (red and white markings), and then follow the signs “château de Saint-Germain”. After 20min, you will see the ruins on you right. Go on and leave the forest path to follow the GR (on the left). On your left you’ll be able to see the castle of the Allymes. Keep on the GR until you reach Saint Germain.

Estimated time: 2:15 one-way (400m difference in height)

These two suggestions are extracted from the “four castles tour”. The “four castles tour” is the result of collaborative work between three associations for heritage preservation: “Les Amis de Saint-Germain et de son Château », « Les Amis du Canton de Saint-Rambert-en-Bugey”, “Les Amis du Château des Allymes et de René de Lucinge” and financed by the Crédit Agricole Centre Est.

A free leaflet is at your disposal at the castle reception, or you can print it from this link: circuit-des-4-chateaux.
